Double Blind Study
We conducted a study on the evaluation of the efficacy of a new oral therapy (10g FORTIGEL – 100mg FUCOIDAN) in reducing the symptoms of gonarthrosis grade 2-3 compared to intra-articular hyaluronic acid and intra-articular platelet-rich plasma. The study was carried out in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of Hospital Universitario Dr. José Eleuterio González, Autonomous University of Nuevo León (Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, UANL), under the supervision of Eduardo Álvarez Lozano, MD.
A total of 108 patients were analysed at baseline, at 1 month, at 3 months, and at 6 months. As shown in the graph, we can state that the use of 10g FORTIGEL – 100mg FUCOIDAN is more effective in reducing the symptoms of gonarthrosis grade 2-3 than more invasive treatments such as intra-articular injection of hyaluronic acid or platelet-rich plasma.

Specialist in orthopaedics and traumatology surgery. Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the UANL, made his specialty of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Hospital Universitario José Eleuterio González UANL
He was awarded a scholarship by the UANL to carry out a Sub-Specialty and a Doctorate at the Clinic of the University of Navarra in Pamplona Spain.
Upon returning from his training, he joined as full-time Professor at the Orthopaedics and Traumatology service of the University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine of the UANL.
